This is a little off-topic, but I had to post a link to this amazing publication, which lists the favourite picture books in 52 countries around the world. The 2nd edition of this publication shows 10 favourite picture books from each country, as chosen by librarians.
Being British-American, I recognize many of those in the UK and USA lists, but was also intrigued to see which books are popular in other countries I have been to, such as France, Japan and Australia. Click on the link here to view the publication online.
It was produced by the Libraries for Children and Young Adults Section of IFLA – International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions – in collaboration with IFLA Literacy and Reading Section and the International Board on Books for Young People.
